Postal Bands – Industrial
Alliance is a proud US Manufacturer of Rubber Bands for the United States Postal Service. The US Postal Service made the decision to no longer provide rubber bands to bulk mailers for use in bundling their mail outs. Many businesses such as bulk mailers used these bands for bundling, filing and organizational purposes.
While the USPS does not set the quality standards for the rubber bands used by private customers, it still has the right to reject any bundled parcels which it feels may cause harm to its Postal employees. Put simply, the US Postal Service will reject any parcel that is not securely and firmly held together as well as any parcel that it feels will break apart during their processing at the Post Office. This leaves many asking the question: Which rubber bands will the post office accept and which will they reject?
You can avoid costly bundling errors by choosing the proper rubber bands. How does Alliance know which rubber bands are approved? We helped write the book on postal bands!
In 1997, Alliance helped to establish the postal regulatory requirements in the Federal Circular A-A 131B – Rubber Band Procurement Manual. This is the guide that outlines the Postal Service’s quality standards for the rubber bands it purchases for its own use. Therefore, it is safe to say that these same mail bands will then be in compliance for use by private customers.
To make sure these demands are met, Alliance offers the same postal rubber bands sold to the USPS to private customers through our distribution network. These mail rubber bands are guaranteed to meet or exceed all Postal requirements.

Grades of Rubber:
The sizes above are available in three different grades of rubber. The difference between each grade is the amount of rubber vs. the amount of filler materials. This matters because the amount of rubber in the band determines how elastic it is, how long it lasts, and how easy it is to use. The perfect grade of rubber depends entirely on the type of hold and/or stretch you require for your particular use. Each item, no matter the grade of rubber, meets or exceeds USPS Regulations.
